Meet the Founders
Identical twin brothers, designers, and founders of DSquared2 Dean and Dan Caten launched their first collection of womenswear in 1986, after leaving Parsons School of Design at the end of their first term, and called it ‘DEanDAN’. The brothers began designing for Gianni Versace and Diesel when they moved to Milan in 1991 and gained financial backing from luxury brand Diesel to launch their namesake brand. After debuting their first menswear collection in 1994 DSquared2 took off. Beginning in the early 2000’s Dean and Dan’s designs were worn by Madonna, Christina Aguilera, and Rihanna who are all known for their provocative yet chic and glamorous styles, just as DSquared2 is. Â
DSquared2 is most known for its distressed denim and remains to be some of the most desired jeans on the market 25 years later.Â
