Few labels mix Italian tailoring with rock-and-roll attitude quite like Dsquared2. Bold ICON branding, perfectly distressed denim and a sense of humor stitched into every collection have made the Milan house a go-to for anyone who wants their luxury to feel a little louder. At PURE, Dsquared2 is one of our most-requested designers, and cooler weather is the perfect time to wear it. Here is everything you need to know about the brand, from its Canadian roots to how to wear it now.

The Story of Dsquared2

Dsquared2 was created by identical twins Dean and Dan Caten, who were born in Toronto in 1964. After designing an early womenswear line in the 1980s, the brothers introduced Dsquared2 in 1995, building a fashion house in Milan that blends Italian craftsmanship with a playful, North American point of view.

The brand's star rose quickly. In 2000 and 2001, the twins designed more than 150 pieces for Madonna, including looks for her Drowned World Tour and the "Don't Tell Me" music video. Since then, Dsquared2 has become a favorite of musicians, athletes and celebrities, and its jeans, hoodies and logo pieces have become staples of luxury streetwear around the world.

The Signatures

The ICON logo, a bold graphic stamp that turns a simple hoodie or tee into an instant statement. Expertly distressed denim, with washes, rips and repairs that look lived-in from day one. Signature fits like the slim, tapered Skater jean and the relaxed Cool Guy cut. And a wink of attitude, from crystal embellishment and paint splatter to playful graphics that never take themselves too seriously.

How to Wear It Now

Let the hoodie lead

The Icon Sunset Hoodie is an easy everyday statement. Pair it with the black crystal and foil splatter denim and the black mesh sneakers for a head-to-toe dark look with just enough shine to stand out on an Atlanta night out.

Play with color

The Horizon Cool Hoodie in purple and the D2 Love Cool Hoodie in red bring bold color to cooler days. Keep the rest of the outfit grounded with the classic blue Skater Denim and clean sneakers so the hoodie does the talking.

Build around the denim

Dsquared2 jeans are the foundation of the brand. Wear the Skater Denim with a crisp white tee and a leather or bomber jacket for a polished, off-duty look, or dress up the black splatter denim with a fine knit and boots for dinner.
