PURPLE X PURE
PURPLE, a brand with roots which originate in Italy, was founded by Rob Lo Hailing from Vancouver’s Roden Gray industrial designer and Luke Cosby of Shdwbx Agency in 2017. The concept came from two young men in search of a men’s denim assortment that had modern price points, while still offering unique and trendy designs. Hailing and Cosby wanted the brand to speak equally to streetwear fashion as it does to luxury fashion. The brand gained momentum as a denim icon with its distinguishing features, including its harmonious fit, hardware and out of the box washes. What began as a purely denim brand eventually evolved into a full clothing line assortment, offering everything from hoodies, tees and sweatpants to the infamous denim jeans.
It is arguable that one of the biggest distinguishers that’s helped establish PURPLE is its iconic tag. The tag itself is a white rectangular cloth with black PURPLE lettering, hung on a small beaded chain. While most branding tags are removed immediately after purchase, many PURPLE clientele embrace keeping the tag on their jeans while wearing them. This has become a statement piece in an outfit, signifying that that person represents the label and wears it proudly. This PURPLE tag movement has allowed the brand to become recognizable to anyone and was what created such a buzz in the retail space. HYDE PARK GOODS COMES TO PURE
Hyde Park Apparel is a clothing brand that was started by two childhood friends, Chris and David, in 2017. Chris and David initially started by designing t-shirts for their friends and family, which quickly gained popularity and sparked the idea of starting their own clothing brand. They began to research and experiment with different fabrics, designs, and printing techniques, eventually settling on a style that combined modern streetwear with classic vintage aesthetics.
